The Kremlin has been engaging in information manipulation and disinformation campaigns against Ukraine since at least 2014, manufacturing false pretexts for invasion. Despite this, Ukraine has shown resilience in defending its values of freedom and sovereignty against Russia’s aggression and disinformation. The international community must support Ukraine’s struggle while actively dismantling the false narratives propagated by Russia. Despite initial expectations of a quick victory, the conflict persists both on the battlefield and in the realm of information warfare. Efforts such as those by EUvsDisinfo to expose Kremlin lies are essential in countering the ongoing disinformation surrounding the war.
